A vast majority of the students in Lithuania had been drinking alcohol during the last 12 months (94 compared to 83% on average). The proportion of students who had been drunk during the same period is also higher than average (66 versus 53%). The lifetime prevalence of smoking is higher than the average for all ESPAD countries (80 compared to 66%) and the same is true for the 30 days prevalence (41 compared to 35%). The proportion of students who have used marijuana or hashish is lower than the average (13 versus 21%), while the proportion that reported use of any other illicit drug than cannabis is about the same (7 and 6% respectively). |

The use of inhalants in Lithuania is less common than the average for all countries (5 and 10% respectively). The use of tranquillisers or sedatives without a doctor’s prescription is about twice the average (14 versus 6%). However, the proportion of students who have used alcohol together with pills is the same as the average for all countries (7%). |
